About us

Falconry is much more than owning birds of prey — it's a unique and ancient partnership between humans and raptors, built on trust, cooperation, and mutual respect. This tradition has been practiced for over 4,000 years and is recognised today as part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage.

In the Czech Republic, there are only about 500 falconers. Although this number is small, it reflects a passionate and dedicated community. Despite our size, Czech falconers have made a significant impact on conservation, helping save several endangered species through careful breeding and reintroduction — the process of releasing birds back into the wild.

Falconers are not just hunters — we are educators, conservationists, and storytellers. We often visit castles, schools, and public events to share our knowledge and passion. It's important for us to inspire the next generation and show how falconry connects us to nature and history.

You can frequently find us in the beautiful Chateau Garden in Kroměříž, where we present our birds and share their stories with visitors. And while we take our work seriously, we also enjoy the fun and humor that come with this ancient craft. Falconry is not only a tradition — it's a lifestyle full of passion, challenges, and unforgettable moments shared with incredible birds and great friends.

Falconer Monti

Has over 25 years of experience in falconry, Monti has devoted his life to the care, training, and understanding of raptors. A skilled fisherman by trade and a true outdoorsman at heart, he brings a deep respect for nature to everything he does. Originally from Kopřivnice, he now works as a breeder in the historic chateau gardens of Kroměříž, where he plays a key role in the conservation and daily care of birds of prey. His work reflects a rare combination of tradition, expertise, and passion.

For Monti, falconry isn't just a profession – it's a way of life.

Lui

Lui, Monti's son, continues the family tradition with dedication and heart. Though still a high school student studying education, he already brings nearly a decade of hands-on experience in falconry. Raised in Nový Jičín and introduced to birds of prey from a young age, Lui has been assisting his father for the past 8 years. His early start has given him a deep understanding of raptors and their care, making him an invaluable part of the team.

With passion passed down through generations, Lui represents the future of responsible falconry.

Laďa

he newest member of our team, Lada may be a recent addition, but his commitment to falconry is nothing short of exceptional. Every day, he brings energy, focus, and a strong desire to learn and grow alongside the birds. Lada is also a long-time member of the historical reenactment group Biskupští manové, where he developed a deep appreciation for history and tradition — values that now enrich his work with raptors.

Blending the past with the present, Lada brings a fresh spirit and deep respect to the ancient art of falconry.
